Wedding Parties

We know how important your wedding day is; let us assist you in making that day beautiful. We offer you a complimentary 30 minute consultation to map out your beauty goals for the day. We have a range of options for your bridal party’s hair styling and we have trusted recommendations for skin care and nail care. After your consultation, we’ll give you a written estimate* outlining your services for your wedding party. Depending on what services you want for your wedding, we’ll advise you on when to schedule those services. Also, we’ll do a test run for the bride’s hairstyle at least 1 day before the wedding day to make sure we’re on the right style track.

Because we are a small salon, and we want your experience with us to the best, our maximum number for bridal parties is 7: that number must include the bride, mother of the bride, matron of honor, bridesmaids and flower girls.

If you want to change your hair color for your wedding, we are delighted to do it. We require all hair color appointments take place at least 1 week prior to your wedding. You are welcome to bring in photos of hairstyles, cuts and/or colors to help us create your signature look. For your bridesmaids, we don’t do test runs on hairstyles, however, we carefully map out a schedule for each member of your bridal party.

Here are a few wedding beauty tips we give to all our brides:

  • Get your waxing done at least 2 days before your wedding, and if you’ve never had waxing before, make an appointment 2 weeks before your wedding. If you’ve never waxed before, you don’t know how your skin may react. Although allergic reactions are rare and we use only hypoallergenic wax, you don’t want to discover an allergy on your wedding day.

Cut & Style

What’s hot!

We’re seeing a lot of juxtaposition this Fall season. Fall fashions are showing dark, exotic prints, futuristic leather shirts, skirts and coats, and bejeweled or sequined garments are HUGE this season. Suits are back in, as is the military uniform motif, and also 50-60’s era retrained style — high-collared dresses, coats and blouses. AND WINTER WHITE!

So, what does this mean for hair? Fortunately, almost any style is in for hair. Loose, natural, relaxed curls have replaced the more formal hot rolled hair look of last season. Long hair or short, pulled back or left down, this freer, natural look is matching up with formal attire or more restrained fashions. The runway is also showing very sleek hair, short or long, with side or center parts and pulled back in a low pony tail or held back with a jeweled hair clip or fabric and feather fastener. The sleek look is also big with formal fashions and the bejeweled looks — so if the clothes are the big show, the hair doesn’t compete.

At JM Salon, we are fascinated by the science of color. We can take you to a whole new color palette, increase your highlights, introduce low lights or correct someone else’s color mistake.

First, we consult with you on what you want your color treatment to do for you. Maybe you want to accent your eyes or skin tone; or decrease, but not completely cover, your grey. Maybe you’re looking to change up your hair color for the season. Whatever the reason, we’ll work with you to make sure you get the color that will compliment your skin tone and lifestyle best.
